Complex mental healthcare training that meets your needs.

Training

Over The Bridge provides practical, evidence-informed training for mental health professionals working with complex presentations. Workshops are designed primarily for psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, social workers, counsellors, nurses, peer workers, and other clinicians seeking to strengthen their skills and confidence in working with complexity.

Training topics reflect Georgie's areas of clinical and research expertise, including psychosis, voice hearing, visual hallucinations, complex trauma, dissociation, mental imagery, Imagery Rescripting, Schema Therapy, suicidal experiences, and transdiagnostic approaches to mental health difficulties.

A strong emphasis is placed on translating research into clinical practice. Rather than focusing solely on theory, workshops aim to equip participants with practical skills, therapeutic strategies, and formulation approaches that can be applied immediately in their work with clients.

An Interactive Learning Experience

Training Venue & Refreshments

Training is highly interactive and designed to support active learning and clinical reflection. Depending on the workshop, participants can expect a combination of:

  • Clinical demonstrations

  • Case illustrations

  • Role plays and experiential exercises

  • Small-group discussions

  • Reflection activities

  • Skills practice

  • Question and answer sessions

Workshops are suitable for both clinicians who are new to a topic and those wishing to further develop existing skills.

Unless otherwise specified, face-to-face training workshops are held at Suite 1, 10 Kwong Alley, North Fremantle, with entry via Queen Victoria Street. Located just a short stroll from North Fremantle's café strip and the Swan River, the venue provides a comfortable, welcoming, and intimate environment for learning and professional development. Morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and refreshments are included with all full-day face-to-face workshops.

To optimise learning, workshops are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 16 participants. This allows for greater interaction, discussion, skills practice, and opportunities for participants to ask questions and apply learning to their own clinical work.

Tailored Training for Services and Teams

In addition to scheduled workshops (see those currently listed), Over The Bridge offers customised training, consultation, and professional development for mental health services, hospitals, community organisations, and private practices.
